Giants released cornerback DeAndre Baker

New York- The New York Giants have decided to waive CB DeAndre Baker, because of his off field issues that may cost him his freedom.

Baker is awaiting trail for four counts of armed robbery, if convicted, he will be facing 10 years and possibly life in state prison. Baker's next court date, which will determined his sentencing will be January, 21, 2021. The Giants were embarrassed about the situation and had this to say about it. "Obviously, it's something that's embarrassing to the organization," Giants co-owner John Mara .

"The DeAndre Baker thing was just something we did not see coming. I read some stories saying there were red flags about him, but not in the sense that you would be concerned about criminal conduct at all. Obviously, it's something that's embarrassing to the organization. It's just something that we're going to have to deal with. It happens from time to time. Fortunately, 99.9% of our players are good citizens. This was one that we just didn't see coming and it's something that we're going to have to deal with."

In a police statement, witnesses said that they saw Baker and Sehawks player Quinton Dunbar stealing money and watches with force while armed with semi-automatic firearms at a party. Even though this is an unfortunate situation, this is a learning lesson to other players that there are consequences in life when you make the wrong choices in life.
